A Step Torwards Perfection

Finally! I get a real break!

Ever since the release of Salvage, I've been through about eight groups. The first one broke because people left, the second through fifth were so-so, but I didn't get anything. The sixth was actually pretty awesome and I got a few pieces here and there, but eventually I was kicked out due to the fact that I couldn't get up that early in the morning. The seventh and eight, DeathPiles and Senkei, respectively, actually got me my first ever completed Salvage piece!

This was an incredible moment for myself as I know it took years to make this happen. But it was soured by Barlow who complained that it wasn't fair that he wasn't able to lot. And of course, Salazaar and Nightfall agreed with him. I was well within my rights to lot per rules of the group. Not to mention that the final piece I needed was a 100% drop rate. I don't get it, and I never will. I'm really sad that they left the group, but... it's just too bad.

But anyway! With this, I'm able to switch to Haubergeon while keeping my haste/6-hit setup. However, since I've now switched to meat (Yellow Curry Bun), I've noticed that my WS Accuracy has dropped tremendously. I might have some adjusting to do.

Besides this stupid stupid stupid stupid drama, nothing has really happened this past week. Hmm... well... Cairstiona and Gipi finished their relics. Mandau for mommy, and Spharai for my Tarutaru comrade! I also finished my MNK AF2 set.

We also killed Sarameya twice. Salazaar got the Oracle's Robe, someone got the Aurum Armet, and Xharric got the Sarameya Hide. I believe he's 2/3 on seals... I have to go ask and make sure.

Up And Down

Where to begin...

Last Wednesday I helped Rrynn get her two of her final spells as a BLU. At the same time, I got to finally explore Beaucedine Glacier [S] and Xarcabard [S]. It was pretty fun! If painful = fun, then it was lots of fun!

These guys are super grumpy. AoE/Conal moves that take multiple or all shadows. Not to mention they hit freaking hard, can terrorize you, and strip you naked. Yes, they're perverts like Yagudos.

Again very grumpy. They weren't as bad as the Ruszors, but they link like crazy. It's sight link, but they can link from over 25' away. Evil evil thingys. They can also terrorize.

I got lucky this week. Sanraku wanted Wamouras, and so I got him Wamouras. 99 zeni each! So I got a total of... 120 pictures (60 each character)... that's around 5k zeni each... Then I went and killed Brass Borer 4x solo. Not so difficult, just boring. This is after the BLU hunting, so I was pretty damn tired. I got a quick nap and moved onto ZNMs.

Oh so very true.

Margulis decided to kill me. Well, he was charmed, so I don't blame him. But the other BLMs took vengence into their own hands. Good job guys!

After four Dahaks, we went to Dynamis-Qufim.

During the run, PUP Cape dropped and Vegetto won. He just recently leveled it. Toth, who has been fighting for it for a while, and was the first PUP pretty much on Fairy server, lost the lot. He also lost his control and vocalized what he considered was... how do I put this into words... unfair?... it was for him not to have priority whilst using pretty vulgar language. Not only was this insulting to Vegetto (who didn't care anyway), he disrespected the entire Linkshell by exclaiming how he wasn't protected. Well Toth, too bad for you. We have rules that you accepted upon applying for membership and we followed through. I'm really sorry buddy, but I hope you have better luck in the future. I'll miss your long AFKs on Sundays most definitely.

Onto real life!

Today I found out I got a raise at work. A very nice 15%! I also got a bonus check! But I lost my bonus check at poker. Not too shabby.

Anyway, it's almost 5:30AM and I have work in 7 hours. So I should get some nap time. Bai!

ZNM Sunday

I'm starting this ZNM Sunday group in hopes of getting a couple more seals to push for the Thursday group, as well as getting some items for those who have never done ZNM as well. Depending on the amount of people that join, the intial focus will be on Tier I and II, and a few from Hydra Path Tier III.

From AMK to Zeni

First of all...

DISCLAIMER WARNING: This post contains images and information pertaining to the new FFXI Expansion "A Moogle Kupo d'Etat," also known as AMK. This posting contains spoilers. Please be advised.

That being said, this post is going to be pretty long as it covers a bunch of stuff. So let's dive in!

I figure I'd start with the sexy Nightfall. This was during Dynamis-Valkurm and she was supposedly talking about needles from Cactaurs... yea. ^^

Randomness...

I got this from the ??? Sash from Red vs. Blue Assault. No one wanted it, so yay for me! This is arguably the best piece for WHM if you want to max out your -Enmity. Good piece once my WHM hits 75. I get to sell my Penitent's Rope! :D

We fought this bastard two weeks ago for some seals. Awful awful bastard that I want to stab. Luckily for this run we had support from Senkei. It was a good thing. I sort of doubt we would have been able to beat him without the help. Basically, this guy has a combination of charm, Astral Flow, and multiple AoE attacks. Just an overall badass. I'm sad we have to keep fighting him. We need seals from this guy for Sarameya.

Along with AMK, this past update also introduced the new Union system to Campaign. Basically, after getting your Allied Tags, you register for a random union. At the end of a campaign battle, depending on how well your union fought, you receive spoils from the battle. It's pretty random, but some items are worth a bunch, and of course the highly sought out Dynamis currency also drop. The more members in a union, the greater the number of drops at the end of the fight because your union is more likely to kill more beastmen. However, the more players, the more competition. So it's a tossup.

With the update, you can now augment pretty much anything. This is one of the new crafted items and the possibility of augments. There are a whole bunch of screenshots on KI and BG forums of some possible awesome augments. This is a screenshot of a random galka passing by. I might try for this one day. I think Demenic is trying to get a group together for it.

Like I said earlier in the disclaimer, if you do not wish to see spoilers, do not read on.

Overall, this expansion was pretty decent. The quests are not as irritating as ACP, and the final BCNM wasn't so aggravating. The best part was the fact that I did not have to climb Delkfutt's Tower. Just thinking about that portion of ACP makes me want to punch this screen. They also did a great job on the cutscenes. Maybe it was just the fact that it was mooglicious, but the details were executed very well.

Ok maybe it's because I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to some of these images... BUT DAMN! I was so freaked out watching this cutscene. I mean, it doesn't look too scary as still pictures, but while it was animated I was getting chills. The eyes were pretty freaky and I had flashbacks of Evangelion. What freaked me out the most were the bloody handprints. Can anyone say Elfen Lied? Maybe I just watch too much creepy, religious, and symbolic anime.

I found this NM wandering around while doing one of the quests for AMK. I remember Azulmagia trying to camp this guy for drops or something... idk. XD

Hello Kitty?

The antagonist of the storyline, the boss moogle was... well... the boss! I didn't take pictures of the last BCNM fight (because I was doing my best not to screw up), but basically this guy goes crazy and gains huge powers. Keyword: huge.

And is it just me or does the second picture look like the resurrection of Jesus? I wonder if it's a sin to compare God to a video game...

Also the boss takes triple damage. Nice little e-peen going here!

Trojan Taru~~~!

The reward of my endeavors. This is a big "FUCK YOU" to Maat's Cap, Wyvern Helm +1, and Shura Zunari Kabuto +1. It is possible to get a full STR+6, but according to the SAM Union on KI, WS+2% is > STR+2. What makes this awesome is the WSACC+15. That's freaking amazing to be combined with a STR piece.

There are only two things that can be arguably better than this: Wyvern Helm +1 with STR+3 augment, or Gnadbhod's Helm. Both of which are a bitch to obtain, or, in the Wyvern's case, pretty much impossible.

I could have also gotten a full accuracy helm with Acc+10/Atk+5, WSAcc+15/STR+4. This would be awesome for THF, MNK, or any other multi-hitting weapon skills. But I enjoy SAM more than any other melee job, so I went with what I have.

Another death-filled day.

First of all, my condolences to the family, friends, fans, and loved ones of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. You will be missed.

I woke up late with a pounding headache that lasted pretty much the entire day. But it didn't stop me from facing today's trials.

First off, Sarameya. I've been waiting to fight this one since the start of ZNMs. We actually did pretty good. We beat the first one without a hitch. The problem was that both of the BRDs used Soul Voice. It was probably my fault with my lame instructions. But we managed. For the second fight, we wiped. Thanks to Glympse and Tiupiu though, we recovered. While we rested and got ready, they repeatedly casted Hymnus on themselves and kept Sarameya busy. Glympse lost close to 13k exp. But it was worth it. We managed to kill it, showing that 2hrs were not needed after Chainspells were spent.

It's too bad our haul wasn't impressive. Oracle's Cap and Aurum Armet x2.

Next was Dynamis-Bastok. Xorn couldn't make it, so I sponsored. 357 Byne Bills, not bad.

I decided to hang out a little bit and do some Red versus Blue with the three kitty-people in the picture above. They got my killed the first time, but we managed to win the second time. I followed them to Salvage as well. I got Lv15 Skadi Boots for free. I doubt I'll get the other two parts, but you never know. I asked Xtinae to see if I could join them. He said he would get back to me on that.

Well, off to make gil. This surprise sponsor is going to set me back a couple days.

This just in! The /pwnED/ and Senkei website is down! Someone forgot to pay the bill. =(

I've fallen and I can't get up!

My mule took a plunge and fell off the wooden planks of Kazham. The GM response was pretty quick. She was stuck for only 10 minutes at most.

Oh and I also amended the rules for ZNM Thursdays. I really should create a forums specifically for the group so I can keep the WC and Malloreon people together... eh too lazy. But anyway, these rules are set up so I know what people really want from ZNMs.

Off to bed. Need all the rest I can get!

Maintenance + ZNM = DAMNIT FFS

They need to really stop doing emergency maintenance when I have ZNM stuff to do. When there's a maintenance, ZNM prices resets to max price. I ended up buying a [T1] Brass Borer pop for 1800 (usually 1000), and a [T2] Anantaboga pop for 4800 (usually 2000)! WTF! SRSLY!

No drops, but smooth runs.

Once again, ADC jacked our run. More specifically, MY SPONSOR RUN. >( SCREW YOU GUYS! RAWR!

We went to Beaucedine instead. All was well. I got shiny new PLD pants.

More blah blah blah...

ZNMs was very efficient today. We did... four Vulpangue pops, and five Iriz Ima pops. Of course, no drops from either ones. But we got five Tier-II seals for our efforts.

Off to Windurst! I forgot to sign up for Dyanmis and got red-labeled. :( It was a pretty good run. Only one Jadeshell though.

It started with ZNMs. Armed Gears was extra pissy with us. The first one wasn't so bad, but the second one decided to spam Rail Cannon and Artifical Gravity back to back. Margulis eventually died from being unable to throw up shadows and we had to kite it while Demenic switched to PLD. Clave did most of the kiting, which I'm entirely grateful for. Taru BLMs don't make great tanks.

Once again, our Bastok got jacked. I think it was the same Linkshell as last week, but I'm not totally sure on that. So instead we went to San d'Oria. Fataru decided to come with us. I'm sure he had fun. We also managed to completely clear the city.

After that, after much nudging and... well... coercing, I bought some expensive stuff off the Auction House, got it crafted, and ran to Castle Zvahl Baileys. The Quest for Amanomurakumo begins!

Surprisigly a very rewarding week!

Wow! Simply... wow!

This week has been pretty damn nice to me. Today was a great conclusion (most likely) of events for this series of seven days.

First of ZNMs! Today we were Marg-uh-less which forced Clave to come on PLD/NIN. Clave didn't have Crimson Cuisses, so it was a little more dificult for him, but we managed. Damage was considerably slower without Clave's Tachi: Kaiten on our side. Next time, we'll put Demenic on PLD and Acers on THF if we lose Margulis for a run again.

We faced Gotoh Zha the Redolent. And these are the results:

With this, I no longer have to get Hecatomb Mittens. Although Heca would still be better for Shark Bite and Mandalic Stab, this is the next best alternative.

Because we were running low on time (people running late, missing people), instead of doing a second pop we did Vulpangue for another seal.

Off to Dynamis! ... and get jacked.

We were supposed to do Dynamis - Bastok but oh well, some new shell with no respect for other shells decided they were more important and took our spot without explanation. But it ended well. We went to Dynamis - Jeuno instead and Xorn got a very good amount of coins. And I got this!



I was very nervous during the run as it was my first time as a THF. But it was great! I died thirteen times!

Hopefully things will always look this good or at least close to it. I will be starting my "project" for gil next week. So far, only a handful know what I'm doing, and I hope they are smart enough to keep their mouth shut. But if all runs smoothly, I will be making close to 200k/night not including expenses.

Dynamis-Xarcabard decides to be nice!

Today was a great day of achievement!

First our ZNM group did Gotoh Zha the Redolent. He was really brutal the last time we helped Senkei for Rewt's Naglering. It took close to an hour the last time and I remember dying at least four times. This time around was different. We took him down really quick, getting him to about 20% within 25 minutes before he used Benediction for over 20,000 HP. After that, it took a little bit more work to get him down. Margulis went down a couple times due to the NM's Fast Cast Tier III -ga spells, Groundburst, and Firespit. But in the end, we took him down. Barlow got Aurum Cuisses and I got a Light Grip (which I will sell as reinbursment for the one I already bought). The best part about killing this NM was the seal reward which makes us eligible for Tier IV Tinnin. I can't wait! After that, we did 3x Iriz Ima, but of course no bootsies.

Dynamis Xarcabard! It was a little crazy. I messed up and pulled aggro after the first NM podium because I wasn't paying attention. I know, baka Maikeru. We also screwed up on the eyeline. But behold, our debrief:
